VOLUME ONE - CHAPTER FOUR

We all have knowledge, knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies. Charity suffers long and is kind, envies not, vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, and charity never fails. Follow after charity, and desire spiritual, but let all be done with charity, the bond of perfectness.

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned. Be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity, and follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace out of a pure heart. And above all have fervent charity among yourselves, for charity covers the multitude of sins.

But if your brother is grieved with meat, now you walk not charitably. Destroy not him with your meat, you are delivered from the power of darkness, and translated into the kingdom of his dear Son. You have the love of God in you, love one to another, that the love wherewith you love God be in them. Because the love of God is shed abroad in your hearts, God commends his love towards us, and nothing is able to separate us from the love of God.

Love works no ill to his neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Confirm your love toward him, the love of God constrain you. And judge thus, that if one live for all, all live: By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the word of God, by love unfeigned.

Abound in this grace and prove the sincerity of your love, live in peace, the God of love and peace is with you. Faith works by love, and by love serve one another, according as God has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. That God, the Father of glory, may give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. God, who is rich in mercy for his great love wherewith he loves us, dwells in your hearts by faith, that you know the love which passes knowledge, and be filled with all the fullness of God.

With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbear one another in love endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Speaking the truth in love, walk in love and peace with the brethren, and love with faith with God the Father. Declaring your love in the Spirit, your heart is comforted, being knit together in love, unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding. And to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God our Father, in whom, are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all. Be at peace, and receive the love of the truth. For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
